McKenney-Salinas Honda should be the model for ALL dealerships/car-buying experiences, and I am NOT easy to please (my husband can attest). The purchase experience at McKenney-Salinas has only been trumped by their service department - and if I could hug Jasper, I would.I wanted a Ford - period. I knew I wanted a Ford because I've only ever driven Fords. I was born and raised in Detroit, my mom retired from Ford - it's basically biblical that you WILL drive a Ford if you're from my family. When it came time for my husband and I to purchase our first "family" vehicle, we drove Explorer after Explorer and sat through HOURS of shenanigans at Charlotte-based dealerships week in and week out only to walk away to "think about it" and never return. The price point on the Explorer was good, but the features were...meh. When I finally took off the "Ford" filter from my car search it was a no-brainer that it was going to have to be a Honda Pilot, which brought us to McKenney Salinas. We found a CPO vehicle with ALL of the features that I wanted (leather, sunroof, tinted windows, back up cam, third row- I mentioned I was hard to please, didn't I?). The vehicle was perfect - with a few minor details that Jake, our sales guy, happily took care of for us. I went over this vehicle with a fine toothed comb not wanting to give in to a Honda so easily but they really made it simple for us. Small tear in the pouch behind the drivers seat? No problem, the seamstress would be in the next day to fix it. Car turned in with a tow lock on it? Don't worry, we'll cut that right off. I had NOTHING. Even when I went to haggle the price the sales manager flipped his screen around and showed me every Pilot in the region, the price and trim, and I had nothing to say. I wanted to see numbers and he showed me the numbers. We were getting a steal. Even as business hours drew to a close, the guy who details the used vehicles stuck around to clean it again for us. While we were waiting for them to detail the vehicle Jake showed us around the dealership and introduced us to Jasper, the service GURU. He told us how great of a vehicle we had, walked us through the report he generated when they certified it, and told us if we ever needed anything he'd be there for us. I hoped, of course, that I wouldn't need to see Jasper again but fast forward 3 months later to last week and we ran into a dead battery on the day of my baby shower. We called Jasper, and without hesitating he had a tow truck out to us, the battery swapped out in the Pilot, and had my husband back home all before the shower started. He got it approved from his "higher ups" and we didn't pay a dime, despite the battery not being covered under the bumper to bumper warranty. Pretty awesome right? Get this: he called me Monday to see how the car was running and to make sure we made it on time to the shower. If I were running a business - Jasper is EXACTLY the type of employee I would want on my roster. His passion for customer service, and commitment to excellence is RARE, and I couldn't let our experience go unmentioned as a result. If we ever need another car, we will absolutely be letting our friends at McKenney-Salinas know so that we can keep our business entirely with them. It is more than worth the quick trip out to Gastonia from Charlotte. THANK YOU for everything!

Great place. Helpful but not pushy if you're looking to buy a car. Friendly workers. Went there to look around and order a part for my friend's car. The part came in on time and the assistance they gave us was fantastic. Definitely recommend.

I initially sent a request to view a used car. My request was promptly responded to with an awesome video of the car and a personal introduction from the sales associate. I came in and viewed that car but it wasn’t exactly what I was looking for. I stated what features were most important to me and what payment I needed to be at and instead ended up with a new Honda Civic that I absolutely love. It was a completely no hassle environment with an amazing staff! Both David and Chris worked with me thru the entire process. If you are looking for a new or used car you will not find a better dealership to work with!! Very happy with the entire experience.
