2021 Honda Insight Review
Serving Gastonia, NC, Charlotte, and Rock Hill
The Insight, which is one of Honda’s most popular sedans, gets some new and notable updates for 2021. For the latest model year, the Insight gets more standard advanced safety features on certain trim levels. It also adds navigation and leather seats to the Touring trim. Dual-zone climate control is also a new feature on certain trims for the Insight in 2021. With the changes, the Insight retains its rank near the top of its class. The Honda Insight still stands out for its impressive fuel economy and its punchy acceleration, particularly for a hybrid vehicle. Comfort, build quality, and interior space have traditionally been strong suits of the Honda Insight, and they remain some of its best attributes for 2021, too.

Exterior and Performance
All trim levels of the 2021 Honda Insight get the same powertrain, which includes a gasoline engine and an electric motor. All Insight trims share a 1.5L engine with four cylinders. This engine, combined with the electric motor, produces 151 HP. Front-wheel drive is standard for all trim levels of the 2021 Honda Insight. The front-wheel drive system takes over powering the wheels on the freeway to improve the vehicle’s fuel economy.
Interior and Technology
A well-designed interior is a key quality of all 2021 Honda Insight trim levels. All trims seat five people. There is plenty of storage capacity in the trunk, too. Seating material varies by trim. While cloth seats are standard on the lower-end models, the higher-end Insight trims have leather seats instead. Connectivity and convenience are prioritized in the Insight’s cabin, which has user-friendly displays and controls within easy reach.
Features in the 2021 Honda Insight vary by trim. The first trim, called the LX, comes with a five-inch infotainment display system that has Bluetooth. A push-button start is standard on this trim level. It also comes with a backup camera. LED lighting illuminates the LX on the road. The second trim level is called the EX. You’ll get a larger eight-inch infotainment display screen with this trim level. It also supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The stereo system is upgraded to a sound system with eight speakers for optimal sound quality. There are more safety features in this trim, and it also comes with a LaneWatch camera to help you maneuver safely on the highway. The top trim is the Touring. This trim gets a slightly improved fuel economy and more luxury items. A sunroof is standard on the Touring, along with leather seats, navigation, and heated and power-adjustable front seats. The sound system is once again upgraded to include a 10-speaker premium sound audio system. WiFi is also standard on the Touring trim.
The 2021 Honda Insight comes with an assortment of advanced safety aids even at the base trim level. To start with, the Insight has the Honda Sensing package that has adaptive cruise control and other driver-assist safety aids. Collision mitigation braking is a standard component of the Sensing suite. This feature helps bring the Honda to a stop by applying the brakes automatically when a collision appears imminent on the front end. The Insight also comes with Road Departure Mitigation. This system detects if your vehicle is crossing the center line without signaling and applies steering assistane to return the car to its position in the lane. The road departure mitigation system will also deploy the brakes to keep your car from running off the road. LaneWatch is added to the EX, which provides a view of the driver’s side blind spot on the right hand side of the car.
