Exterior and Performance
Standard in the 2020 Pilot, a 3.5 L engine earns a 280-horsepower rating at 6,000 RPM. Drawing gasoline through the SOHC i-VTEC valvetrain, this V6 engine cranks out 262 pound-feet of peak torque at 4,700 RPM. All trims are capable of towing a trailer that weighs 5,000 pounds as measured according to SAE guidelines. Fuel economy is dramatically improved by the Variable Cylinder Management. You’ll also be a smarter driver thanks to the Eco Assist function. Installed in the high-level trims, the Idle-Stop technology enhances fuel economy. When fitted with the Intelligent Variable Torque Management AWD, this mid-size Honda SUV is ready to conquer off-road trails. The i-VTM4 system receives torque from an automatic transmission that generates six or nine gear ratios. Additionally, the Intelligent Traction Management helps the 2020 Pilot overcome mud, snow and sand.
Interior and Technology
A tri-zone climate control system is standard in most of the 2020 Pilot trims. This automatic HVAC system includes an air filter and humidity control. Integrated sunshades prevent excessive sunshine from bothering passengers in the second row. Heating is also available for the second-tow captain’s chairs. Most editions are available with the one-touch seating system in the second row. Having a perforated texture, the front seats come with cooling and heating. The third-row bench seat in this mid-size Honda SUV has a flat-folding design with a 60-40 layout. A 10-way driver’s seat with a two-position memory system provides excellent ergonomics. This family-friendly Honda car also has 15 total beverage holders, two garment hooks and power door locks. Four cargo tie-down hooks, a lockable glove compartment and a hidden storage well provide convenient storage solutions.
An 8-inch electrostatic touch screen occupies the center stack inside the 2020 Pilot. Some mobile-friendly services that are integrated into the infotainment console include HondaLink®, Android Auto® and Apple CarPlay®. Select trims are equipped with a navigation system that receives updates from HD Digital Traffic. Featuring a 10.2-inch monitor, the Advanced Rear Entertainment System comes with several built-in streaming applications. Additionally, this all-new entertainment bundle includes a Blu-ray player with an HDMI port. Rated at 115 volts, a power outlet charges large electronics inside the cabin. Compatible with speakers and headphones, the Cabin Talk In-Car PA System provides reliable communication between the driver and passengers. This mid-size Honda SUV also boasts a 590-watt audio system with 10 speakers. This multi-zone sound system plays songs from SiriusXM®, HD Radio, Pandora® and other channels. Other key technologies in the 2020 Pilot include a wireless phone charger, WiFi network, Bluetooth® and CabinControl.
Seven active safety technologies from the Honda Sensing suite are standard in the 2020 Pilot. You’ll find great comfort knowing that the Collision Mitigation Braking and Adaptive Cruise Control assist you in monitoring the road ahead. You’ll receive important alerts from the Forward Collision Warning and Lane Departure Warning. Some driving aides that aren’t part of the signature safety bundle include the Cross Traffic Monitor and Auto High-Beam Headlights. All Pilot models are equipped with the Multi-Angle Rearview Camera. You can easily align the car’s wheels with the dynamic guidelines that appear on the infotainment system.
