Performance

The 2020 HR-V runs on a 1.8L engine block that produces 141 horsepower and just under 130 pound-feet of torque. This SOHC, I-4 powertrain includes the latest i-VTEC technology for optimal efficiency and performance. Displacing 1,498 cc on each combustion stroke, the 2020 CR-V 4-cylinder engine whips out 190 net hp. Featuring the DOHC configuration, this turbocharged powerhouse is rated at just under 180 lb-ft of peak torque. Both Honda crossover SUVs offer great gas mileage with the aid of standard Eco Assist® technology.

You can also get a hybrid powertrain for the updated CR-V model. A 1,993 cc engine works in tandem with a lithium-ion battery and electric motor to deliver class-leading efficiency. The hybrid system can run on the EV, ECON and Sport modes. Combustion under the hood of each Honda model is surprisingly quiet because of the Active Noise Cancellation. Optional for the HR-V and CR-V on higher trims, the Real Time AWD redistributes torque depending on available traction. Using electronic sensors to scan the environment, the Intelligent Control System adjusts the patented drivetrain accordingly. Additionally, a continuously variable transmission with the Sport Mode is standard on both crossover SUVs. For example, the CR-V hybrid trims which are driven by an electronic CVT with deceleration selectors.
